E10, E11

E13

Alarm about water leaks into the pan. Cause:

1. Damage to the drain pump.
2. Broken inlet or drain hose.
3. Hatch depressurization.
4. Cracks in the tank body.

E20, E21, EF0 EF1

Signal about a water drainage problem. Cause:

• clog in the drain hose,
• clogged drain filter,
• clogged or faulty drain pump.

Possible problems with sewerage.

What to do:

1. Check for blockages and, if necessary, clean the water drain pipe.
2. Drain pump impeller.
3. Test and replace the drain pump if necessary.

E23, E24

Signal about a malfunction of the triac that controls the drain pump. Problem: the triac of the electronic board has burned out, the integrity of the contact connection between the pump and the triac is broken.

E31

Pressure switch fault signal. The control unit, not receiving reliable data about the filling of the tank with water, stops the running washing process.

Reason: the water level sensor in the tank has failed. What to do: test and, if necessary, replace the water level sensor in the tank.

E32

Signal about incorrect operation of the pressure switch. Reason: violations in the filling system of the washing machine, breakdown of the water level control sensor in the drum.

What to do:

• check the quality of water pressure in the tap,
• pipes,
• drain filter and pump for blockages,
• test the pressure switch.

E33

Alarm about problems with the water level control sensor in the drum and the heating element protective relay. Cause:

1. Sensor pipes are clogged.
2. High voltage in the network.
3. Provoking contact breaks in the wiring of the heating element and pressure switch.

What to do: check for blockages in the pressure switch tube, test the contacts of the heating element and the water level sensor.

E35

Signal that the permissible level of water in the tank has been exceeded. Reason: broken pressure switch. What to do: carry out diagnostics and, if necessary, replace the faulty water level control sensor in the tank.

E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E45

Signals about problems related to the hatch door locking. Cause:

• the hatch door is not tightly closed,
• deformation of the rubber cuff,
• the hatch locking device has failed,
• breakdown of the lock mechanism.

E50, E51, E53, E54, E55

A signal about a motor malfunction, breaks in the motor winding, breakdowns of the triac and the circuit connecting the motor and the triac. With such malfunctions, the drum does not rotate. The washing machine blocks the hatch, but the washing process does not start.

Cause:

1. The motor and tachogenerator have failed.
2. The triac on the electronic controller board is faulty.
3. The connection between the motor and the triac is broken.
4. The motor winding has short-circuited.

What to do:

• test the triac and other elements on the board in the motor circuit (most often such repairs are trusted to professionals),
• replace motor brushes,
• test and, if necessary, replace the engine speed sensor.

In a situation where the contacts in the motor circuit are damaged (most often caused by water entering the motor), a complete replacement of the faulty element is required.

E52, E56, E59

Signal of a malfunction of the sensor that controls the engine rotation speed (tachogenerator). Reason: the tachogenerator has failed. What to do: test the element with a multimeter, if necessary, replace the faulty sensor.

E57, E58

Signal about increased voltage in the power supply network. Reason: wiring problems. What to do:

1. Check that the washing machine is connected correctly (connection via an extension cord is excluded).
2. Network voltage parameters.
3. The serviceability of the socket (with grounding) into which the household appliance is plugged in.

E61, E62, E66, E68, E69, E3A, E71, E74

Signals about problems associated with heating water in the drum (the water temperature does not correspond to the parameters specified by the program at the required time).

Cause:

• the heating element has come out,
• heating element relay,
• problem with the wiring of the heating element,
• The temperature sensor is faulty.

What to do:

1. Test and, if necessary, replace the thermistor and heating element.
2. Inspect the contacts of the heating element.
3. Check that the thermistor is positioned correctly.

E74

Signal about problems with water heating (thermistor location is broken). Cause: Due to strong vibration, the temperature sensor has changed its correct location. What to do: set the thermistor to its original position.

E82, E83

Signal of selector failure (the washing machine does not respond to the given commands). Problem: the selector has failed, malfunctioning of the electronic module caused by a sharp surge in voltage. What to do: test the control module, replace the selector.

E84, E85

Signal of a malfunction of the recirculation pump. Reason: the control module has failed. What to do: test the control unit, replace burnt out elements.

E90, E91

A signal that communication with the control module is broken (the washing machine does not respond to commands). Reason: control module malfunction.

What to do: test the operation of the control module, if necessary, replace faulty elements or the module completely (as a rule, in such a situation, qualified assistance from a technician is required).

E93,E94,E95,E96,E97

An error indicates that the specified program has not been executed. Reason: configuration error, there is no match between the board and the connected elements.

What to do:

• wipe the board elements with alcohol,
• enter a new configuration code,
• test microprocessors and elements,
• if necessary, replace the washing machine control unit.

E98

Signal about damage to the control circuit (the washing machine has stopped rotating the drum). Cause: Connection error between the electronic board and the motor control part. E99 (E9A)

Simultaneously with the error, the washing machine emits signals that are atypical for the operating process. Reason: wiring problem, sound module failed. What to do: check and eliminate wiring defects, replace the sound module.

EB0, EB1, EB0, EB1

Signal that the network voltage is not normal. Problem: network connection problems, problem with the electrical system at home.

What to do:

1. Check the voltage level in the network.
2. Eliminate possible problems in the electrical panel.
3. Check that the washing machine is properly connected to the electrical network (grounding, quality of the socket).

EF5

Signal about imbalance of the washing machine drum. Reason: the volume of loaded dirty laundry is exceeded (or vice versa insufficient).

What to do:

• stop the washing process,
• open the hatch,
• remove excess (or add missing volume) laundry,
• spread the items evenly over the drum.

EF2

Signal of excessive foam formation in the drum. Cause: Excessive use of detergent.

What to do:

1. Stop the washing process.
2. Drain the lamb.
3. Take things out.
4. Thoroughly wipe the cuffs, powder receptacle and drum walls from foam.
5. Reload laundry.
6. Pour the required amount of washing powder into the dispenser.
7. Start the washing process.

Fault signals for Electrolux washing machines without display

An Electrolux washing machine without a display on the control panel signals a malfunction by flashing indicators. Depending on the type of control module (EWM 1000 or EWM 2000), the combination of code flashes and the method of decoding them differs.

In a washing machine with an EWM 1000 control module (you can check the type of module in the passport of the household appliance), the error code can be deciphered by the blinking of two LED lights located near the “Start/Pause” and “End of washing” buttons (pictured item 2).

The number of flashes of the first LED is the first digit of the error code. The second digit of the code is determined by the number of flashes of the second indicator.

For example: the first indicator blinked three times, after two seconds the second indicator blinked five times. This combination of blinking indicators indicates error E35.

In a washing machine with an EWM 2000 control module, eight LED lights (located vertically on the right side of the panel) are used to decipher the breakdown signal. The four upper lights are responsible for the first digit of the error code, the four lower LEDs are responsible for the second digit of the code (in the photo, item 3, item 4). LED light counting starts from bottom to top.
