Preparing for work
You need to prepare to disassemble the Bosch washing machine. This is done so that in the process of performing basic work, you do not have to be distracted by searching for tools and other little things.
Actions that are performed at the preparatory stage:
- Clear the area where the equipment will be dismantled. It is inconvenient to do this in the bathroom. It is better to take the machine out into an open space with good lighting.
- Cover the floor with cardboard or thick film. This will protect the coating from debris and scratches.
- Prepare boxes for bolts. It is better to label each of them so as not to mix up the screws.
- Disconnect the device from all communications, remove the drain hose from the drain, and turn off the power to the device.
- Prepare a phone that is convenient for filming the disassembly process. Subsequently, the photographs taken will allow you to quickly and accurately assemble the washing machine.
- Prepare a container to drain any remaining water from the emergency hose. Rags to collect liquid will not be superfluous.
Minimum set of tools:
- a set of screwdrivers or a screwdriver with different attachments;
- hammer;
- pliers;
- socket and open-end wrenches;
- lubricant, for example, VD-40 - it will be needed if parts or bolts are rusty.
When all the tools are prepared, you can proceed to the main stage.
Device diagram
A clear understanding of how a Bosch washing machine works, as well as where exactly its main components are located, will help you disassemble the device correctly. Depending on the model, there may be minor differences, but the basic elements remain the same.
For front-loading washing machines, it is located on the front wall.. It is held in place by two loops. Also on the front panel there is a hatch locking device, a handle for opening it and a cuff.
Outside there is a control panel with rotary knobs, buttons, and a screen (on older models there is no one). Immediately behind it there is an electronic module, an anti-interference filter and its casing. A separate socket is intended for a powder receptacle.
The following structural elements are located inside the housing:
- tank and drum;
- sensors for monitoring foam formation, imbalance, WPS, water level, 3D sensor and others;
- inlet and outlet valve;
- water pump;
- heating element;
- shock absorbers;
- counterweights;
- engine;
- belt (direct drive machines do not have one).
The separate elements are the power cord, drain and inlet hoses.
Rules for disassembling a Bosch washing machine
When performing analysis, you need to follow the procedure that corresponds to the type of device loading. The algorithm will differ, but not significantly.
Horizontal loading
Step-by-step parsing algorithm Bosch front loading washing machine:
- Remove the top cover. To do this, you need to unscrew 2 bolts located on the back wall of the device. The lid is lifted up and then pushed forward.
- Unscrew the fastening screws that secure the control panel and remove it. To remove the control module, you need to open the latches. First, two upper and two lower (on the right side of the panel), then three central, and then one lower and one upper on the left.
- There is a pressure switch under the cover; it is dismantled.
- Remove the powder receptacle. To remove it, you need to press a special tab.
- Remove the front panel of the case: unscrew the upper fastening screw, release the clamp and push out the cuff, tighten the lower screws. The front wall has been removed.
- After dismantling the front wall, you can see the traverses, they are twisted. Then disconnect the wires of the surge protector.
- Unscrew the water supply valve, which is located on the back wall.
- Release the tank fasteners, twist the motor and counterweights.
- Remove the heating element. Most often it is fixed with one bolt. If the heating element is tight, it is removed with rocking movements.
- Disconnect the temperature sensor.
- Remove the tank along with the shock absorbers. If it needs to be disassembled, then the clips that secure the two halves are disconnected. Then the pulley is dismantled, the oil seal and bearings are knocked out.
- The last thing you can do is remove the pump. It is disconnected from the inlet hose (it was disconnected from the drum pipe earlier, when it was removed), the fasteners are removed and removed from the bottom of the housing.
After all elements of the washing machine have been disassembled, you can begin repairs. How to remove the top cover, read Here.
The video will show you how to disassemble a Bosch washing machine:
From vertical
The steps for disassembling a Bosch top-loading washing machine are not significantly different. Only the order in which they are executed changes:
- first remove the control panel, which is located on the top cover, and not on the front wall - it is secured with latches;
- carefully disconnect the wires, unscrew the screws securing the control board;
- disconnect the filling valve, having first removed the hose from it;
- the next step is to remove the top and side panels;
- then disconnect the clamp from the drum.
Further actions are carried out according to the plan presented for a front-loading machine.
How to assemble the device?
If you managed to cope with disassembling the Bosch washing machine, then assembling it will not be difficult. All steps must be performed in reverse order, starting with installing the shock absorbers and tank.
There is no need to rush. If filming was previously carried out, then the frames taken may be useful at this very moment. After the machine is assembled, there should not be a single part left. There are no unnecessary elements in the design of the Bosch SMA.
Particular attention should be paid to connecting the wires. If the contacts of another element are placed in the socket of the heating element, this can lead to a short circuit of both the components themselves and the electronic module, the repair of which is considered one of the most expensive.
The bolts must be screwed tightly so that they do not come out of the thread during operation of the device.. If there is rust on them, it must be removed. It is also recommended to inspect the condition of the hoses and pipes, the heating element.
Difficulties and ways to overcome them
The Bosch washing machine has a complex structure, so when disassembling it a person without experience may encounter certain difficulties, namely:
- Incorrect connection of wires and fastening of parts. This can be avoided by photographing the initial position of the elements.
- Wedging of the housing walls. Most often this happens with the top cover of the machine. If it is difficult to remove, then it must be carefully pryed off with a flat, blunt object.
- Bolt sticking. To loosen the ties, they need to be lubricated with silicone.
- Water leaking from the emergency hose. It must be opened in advance, even before the analysis begins. There is always a certain amount of liquid remaining in the pipes, which can get not only on the floor, but also on the electronics. This should not be allowed.
Conclusion
When starting to disassemble a Bosch washing machine, you need to prepare yourself for long-term operation. If you have no experience, the process may take a whole day. Parts should be removed carefully so as not to damage them, since the cost of original Bosch components is high.
