An indispensable assistant in the fight against old stains on clothes, or what does the pre-wash program mean?

foto43115-1Equipped with many useful functions, the automatic washing machine simplifies and speeds up the difficult process of washing dirty laundry.

But among all the variety of work programs, few people pay attention to the “Pre-wash” option.

What does pre-wash mean, what is its purpose and how to use this program correctly we will tell you in more detail.

What is this option on the washing machine?

The “Pre-wash” option, similar to manual soaking, helps to quickly and efficiently remove particularly difficult, stubborn stains from dirty clothes.

During pre-treatment with a soap solution, the fabric fibers soften and become looser, which allows for faster removal of fat particles and other contaminants.

How does it work?

Pre-wash option works according to the following algorithm:

  • foto43115-2the washing machine takes in water and heats it to 30°C (the optimal temperature for removing some of the dust and dirt from clothes);
  • from a special compartment of the powder receptacle, the detergent enters the drum, where it is mixed with water (at this stage, the powder poured into the main wash compartment of the dispenser is not used);
  • The drum rotates for a certain period of time, after which the water is drained and a new stage begins - the main wash.

Pre-wash option Compatible with the following modes:

  • "Synthetics",
  • "Delicate",
  • "Jeans",
  • "Cotton".

How to use?

To start a work cycle with the “Prewash” function, necessary:

  1. The drum of the washing machine is filled with dirty laundry (clothes are pre-sorted by type of fabric and degree of contamination).
  2. Washing powder is poured into the detergent dispenser (the compartment for main and pre-treatment is filled separately).
  3. On the control panel you can set the required mode, pre-wash option, required temperature and number of spin speeds.
  4. Start the work cycle (press the “Start/Pause” button).

After a sound signal indicating the end of the working cycle, clean laundry is taken out of the drum and hung out to dry.

How long does it take?

The maximum time during which clothes go through the “Prewash” stage is two hours. In total (depending on the type of main program selected), a full operating cycle can last up to four hours.

What temperature?

The pre-wash temperature does not exceed 30°C. This is due to the fact that at higher temperatures, particles of blood, fruit, earth (everything that leaves difficult to remove stains on clothes) do not come off, but rather stick to the fibers of the fabric, which makes removing stains an almost impossible mission.

Pros and cons of using

Everyone who has already used the “Pre-wash” function notes the maximum result (all stains disappear from clothes, while the color of the fabric and the shape of the product are preserved).

But at the same time as high quality, you should not forget about some not very pleasant moments: pre-treatment increases the total working cycle time, and the consumption of water, electricity and washing powder increases significantly.

In what cases should it not be used?

Pre-wash function not recommended for use for:

  • especially delicate, thin fabrics,
  • hand knitted products,
  • cashmere,
  • wool - all those things on the labels of which there is a warning about the prohibition of active twisting and drying.

It is also not recommended to use the additional soaking option for heavily shedding items (such items must be washed very quickly, by hand).

Adviсe

foto43115-4To fully appreciate all the benefits of pre-washing, it’s a good idea to use a few tips.

The first thing to remember is: for the clothing pre-treatment option I only use dry powder.

This is due to the fact that liquid detergent or gel poured into the main wash compartment will simply flow into the drum before the start of the working cycle.

Second point: the “Pre-wash” option is incompatible with the express mode. This is due to the fact that express treatment is applicable to things that are not very dirty, for which pre-soaking is simply not necessary.

Conclusion

The Pre-Wash function is simple and straightforward. With regular use, it is the pre-soak function will become an indispensable assistant in the fight against old stains on clothes.

Good day. You write that sportswear needs to be washed every time after use. But I have another fact: the more often you wash it, the faster the material begins to unravel, and at the same time, from the antistatic agent, the same thing happened to my suit unraveling during the first wash. So your facts are contradictory. And now I have a question that you will absolutely not like, what should you wear when you discover this fact, in order to prevent the further development of the situation.
